WORLD HEALTH DAY 2015
“Economics of Nutrition and Payment System”

Background
Despite of historical low public and private health expenditures, Indonesia has a very high commitment to provide universal health coverage using the National Health Insurance Model. To date, the Single Payer of BPJS is covering more than 132 million people, the Largest Single Payer in the World. Indonesia is committed to cover all citizens by 2019. In addition, Indonesia has also been committing to improve nutritious of its people through various programs such as cash transfer and conditional cash transfer.
So many lessons can be learned from Indonesia, both for the developments of coming health policies in nutrition and health care as well as for other developing countries. Political and societal responses to the health care reforms undertook since January 2014 will determine the future of health system in Indonesia, and probably in the region.
To facilitate exchange of information and to provide evidences to improve macro and strategic policies in health system reform in Indonesia and in the region, the Indonesian Health Economic Association (InaHEA) will perform the Second Congress of InaHEA in Jakarta. This event also promotes the importance of World Health Day, which take the Theme of Food Security. To make relevant to health economics, the Congress will specifically discuss Nutrition Economics, in relation to the Food Safety. The Congress will discuss six major issues in English (Plenary) and in dual language for the Abstracts. The six categories to be discussed are as follow:
- Economics of Nutrition
- Health Care Financing
- Pharmacoeconomics
- Hospital Economics
- Payment Systems
- Economics of Tobacco
Goal and Objective
- To introduce the Indonesian Health Economics Association (INAHEA)
- To share information to improve health policies at the national and regional governments and at institutions
- To share information among institutions such as hospitals, clinics, health centers, pharmaceutical companies, etc.
- To exchange information across Asian Countries
